YoungLives (Young Life for teen moms) is launching and we need your help!

Dear friend,

In Young Life, we want to reach more kids and all kinds of kids. Out of this heart, Young Life in Auburn is launching a YoungLives ministry -- Young Life for teenage mothers.  Teen moms are often forgotten and isolated in today's culture, and we believe they too deserve the chance to respond to the hope of Jesus. We want them to know how much they are loved, valued and sought after. Teen moms need all the advocates and resources they can get. The choices they make will affect the rest of their lives and they need to be told that they matter, their babies lives matter and that life will go on after becoming a teen mom. We are having an informational/interest meeting this Saturday, May 2nd at 10am to share more about what YoungLives is and what roles within this ministry look like. This ministry will not leave the ground without a groundswell of support, so consider joining us to see if there is a role for you - great or small! Brunch will be provided.

Please RSVP by filling out this simple form.

I am honored to be serving as the YoungLives Coordinator in Auburn. Since I became pregnant with our first baby in the fall of 2012, my heart began to swell for the countless women who were experiencing pregnancy as young and single mothers. I couldn't imagine how frightening and overwhelming a first time pregnancy would be at 15 years old, when here I was -- 27, happily married & excited to be welcoming our first baby (while also a bit nervous!).

Through this conviction, I've felt a strong calling from the Lord to reach out to teen moms in Auburn through YoungLives. YoungLives does not waiver from the original vision of Young Life by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ and helping them become the women and mothers God has called them to be.  My heart is to join forces with other people in our city who are passionate about providing support for teen moms and their precious babies.

I am excited to start entering the world of teen moms in Auburn and sharing the hope of Jesus with them! But I can't do it on my own. We will be running YoungLives under the umbrella of Young Life in Auburn which already provides a huge foundation of support. But we have many roles that need to be filled in order to be successful. If your heart is even slightly intrigued, I ask that you would explore with the Spirit what He may be calling you to. Please join me on Saturday and enter in to what the Lord may have for you, great or small.
