It has been a whirlwind, incredible few months here at Auburn Young Life! We have been desiring a more effective way to communicate with our friends, parents and donors so we've decided to embrace the 21st century and start a blog! Please check by this page every week for updates, news and fun goings-on in the Auburn Young Life community.
For our first post, we'd love to share a few exciting developments in the area.
New Staff and More Kids
Within the year we've been able to hire two full-time Staff Associates, Kevin Stigers and Dominique (Dom) Folkins. With Kevin and Dom's addition, we will now be able to better care for and train our 80 volunteer Young Life leaders in 7 schools and reach more kids! Did you know this year, Auburn Young Life is averaging more than 500 kids at our clubs and campaigners meetings a week? We count kids because kids count. This is a number we're pretty excited about!
We are excited to announce we are in the beginning stages of launching a ministry of Young Life called YoungLives which is basically Young Life for teen moms. Melissa Nishimoto, former 8-year Volunteer Leader at Auburn Mountainview will be serving as our Young Lives Coordinator. To learn more about the ministry of YoungLives please visit here. If you're interested in getting involved in the ministry of YoungLives please contact Melissa or consider attending our interest meeting on May 2, 2015 at 10am at the Young Life House (includes brunch).
Finally, we would like to say thank you. Thank you for investing in kids. Thank you for believing they are worth it. They are. We hope you will join us in our journey to make Jesus famous amongst our teenage friends of Auburn -- teenagers of all kinds -- and experience the miraculous of lives changed time and time again. Come visit us often for updates, encouragements and news about Young Life in Auburn or contact our office anytime to learn more! We'd love to buy you a coffee.
