Summer Report 3 | Melissa Nishimoto, YoungLives Coordinator

It's hard to believe how much has happened over the course of a year!  God has been so faithful and truly taken me for a ride along the way.  Ever since our banquet this past April, we have been overwhelmed by the way our community has responded to the need and desire to start this new ministry to teen moms.
We recently had our first training for the 10 women who have felt called to be YoungLives leaders, and I was blown away. These women are in all different seasons of life and come with varying stories and gifting, but the same Lord has called them and led them to this moment for this ministry. They are simply an incredible group. Their excitement for YoungLives is contagious!  It's an honor to get to spend time with these women and I can hardly wait to see what God has planned for them as they embark in ministry!

2015-2016 BRAND NEW YoungLives Leaders!
We have also tentatively set a date for our first YoungLives club! Our goals over the next few months leading to club include disseminating flyers to all the local high schools and youth resource centers in the city; continued training of our new leaders and beginning to attend teen mom support group meetings at West Auburn High School. In addition, we continue to look and pray for additional adult support who will help cook meals, watch babies and provide support behind the scenes for YoungLives. If this might be you, I'd love to hear from you! Finally, we will be hosting a raffle at each club for baby gear, baby clothing, diapers and/or wipes. If you have any of these items you'd like to donate, please contact me.
Please continue to join us in prayer as we follow God's call and lead into the lives of teen moms in our city. Pray that the details would come together for a successful club and greater ministry, and that we might see our efforts come to fruition for His glory.
